About the office
The Research Services aims to develop and maintain a vibrant research culture which stimulates high quality translational research and makes a positive difference to our communities, particularly those most in need. The HDR Coordinator supports the coordination, and delivery of day-to-day administrative support for the Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Team. The position reports to the HDR Lead.
About the role
The HDR Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering day-to-day administrative support for the Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Team. This role also provides administrative assistance to HDR students, academic staff, and academic supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HDR student lifecycle, including admission, progression, examination, and completion, in line with University policies
- Assist HDR students and supervisors with timely advice, thesis examinations, scholarships, and supervisor registration.
- Investigate, report, and recommend improvements to HDR support services.
- Provide support to HDR students and supervisors with accurate and timely advice and assistance, ensuring that the resolution of matters are escalated appropriately in accordance with procedures.
- Coordinate and support Research Services projects to meet operational and strategic goals.
- Contribute to process improvements and share knowledge to enhance services.
Qualifications, skills & experience
- Degree in a relevant discipline with several years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Administration experience, preferably within a tertiary institution, research institute, or similar organisation.
- Proven experience providing high-quality administration support and advice on HDR-related matters.
- Strong skills in planning and setting objectives, effectively managing time and resources to achieve results.
- Deliver excellent customer service, managing stakeholder relationships and expectations in line with University policies.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate, identify and analyse key issues and propose practical solutions.
